About Our Founder Leann Murphy-Baker
Veterans Protected is owned and led by Leann Baker. Ms. Baker is individually accredited by the Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington D.C. She brings over 20 years of relevant experience providing consulting services for local government and paralegal services for law firms and in-house counsel. She holds an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. Additionally, she teaches courses related to ethics and marketing for a home inspection school and is a Certified Nursing Assistant and holds a Certificate in Phlebotomy.
Her paralegal experience includes Family Law matters, Insurance Defense, Environmental Litigation, Personal Injury, White Collar Crime, Tax, Employment, Product Liability, Bankruptcy, Asbestos Cases, Contract Litigation, Construction Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Complex Litigation.
She has served in many capacities with local charitable and service organizations. Ms. Baker has appeared as a guest for NBC News, Veteran News, News 12 Long Island, The Long Island Herald, The Island, The Standard, Live it Up, The Long Island View and Listen Up Jesus is on the Air, speaking about the nation's homeless veteran population, the claims process and other matters of concern to veterans and their families. She has appeared as a guest speaker at the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers conference , which was attended by County Veteran Service Officers representing over 40 states and the Lumbee Indian Tribe and before various veteran organizations. Ms. Baker has presented as an instructor at the Annual New Jersey Association of County Veteran Service Officers training conference held in Atlantic City.
